EBV is human herpers virus and associated with various reactive and neoplastic lesion in human, such as infections mononucleosis, endemic Burkitt's lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma and lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma of various site including

Recently. There are growing evidences of EBV association with usual gastric adenocarcinoma especially in Japan. The author performed in situ hybridization to EBERs. Which is good marker for latent infection of EBV. To search incidence of EBERs
positive
gastric adenocarcinoma and characteristics of the EBERs positive gastric adenocarcinoma.
@ES The results are as follows:
1. The overall incidence of EBERs positive gastric adenocarcnoma is 5.7% (6/106).
2. The prevalent site of EBERs positive gastric adenocarcinoma is antrum.
3. The adjacent non-neoplastic epithelial cells in 2 out of 6 cases and lymphocytes in 4 out of 6 cases show EBERs positivity.
